Searching Outagamie Cases by Name
Open Wisconsin Circuit Court Access and select Outagamie County. WCCA generally requires at least three characters in a last name for a statewide query. Its documented wildcard is an asterisk. Enter a first or middle name only when it helps narrow the results, and do not copy private birth dates into public notes.
- Open WCCA and accept the public-access terms.
- Select Outagamie County.
- Enter the last name, then add the first name if needed.
- Narrow by case type, status, or filing date.
- Open a result only after matching its public case facts.

Outagamie WCCA Search Fields
WCCA provides both simple and advanced fields. A careful Outagamie County case search uses only the facts needed to distinguish the file. Broad searches return more namesakes; overly narrow searches can hide the right record because of spelling or date differences.
| Field | Use | Limit or note |
|---|---|---|
| Party or business | Name-based lookup | Use the wildcard for uncertain spelling. |
| County and type | Narrow jurisdiction | Pick Outagamie and the correct code. |
| Case number | Direct match | Full year, type, and sequence is best. |
| Filing date | Limit results | Maximum thirty-day range. |
| Citation or agency | Traffic and ordinance filters | Agency choices follow county. |
Advanced fields also include class code, attorney State Bar ID, disposition date, district attorney case number, offense date, and case status.
Searching Outagamie Case Numbers
A Wisconsin circuit number uses a four-digit year, two-letter case type, and six-digit sequence. A sample format is 2026CV000123. CV marks civil; CF felony; CM misdemeanor; CT criminal traffic; SC small claims; FA family; PR probate; and TR traffic forfeiture. The full value is the cleanest search key.
WCCA help allows some leading century or zero characters to be omitted, but preserving them avoids ambiguity. If no result appears, confirm that the matter is in Outagamie Circuit Court. A municipal citation, federal civil case, federal criminal case, or bankruptcy will not use this WCCA route.
Outagamie Date and Agency Filters
Filing-date and offense-date searches allow a maximum thirty-day window. Break a longer span into separate queries rather than guessing a single day. Disposition dates, status, attorney fields, class codes, and district attorney numbers can add precision when supported by a court document.
For a citation query, select Outagamie County before choosing the issuing agency. Agency options are county-dependent. Citation formats vary and may include a letter prefix or suffix, such as X111111-1. Preserve the format on the ticket. Municipal citations may remain outside WCCA, so check the issuing court before concluding that the search failed.
What an Outagamie Case Search Returns
A public result can lead to a case summary with the number, type, status, filing and disposition dates, county branch, public party roles, public attorney information, charges or civil class, activities, citations, judgments, receivables, and document notices. The tabs vary by case type and privacy status.
| Case Number | Year, two-letter type, and sequence. |
|---|---|
| Public Parties | Roles and names where disclosure is allowed. |
| Case Type | The precise Wisconsin classification. |
| Dates | Filing, activities, and disposition where shown. |
| Status | Closed, Filed Only, Open, or Reopened. |
Outagamie Status Codes Explained
Open, Closed, Filed Only, and Reopened are WCCA system states. Closed does not explain how the case ended. Reopened signals later activity after closure. Filed Only describes the system state but still requires the event history for context.
Likewise, an activity is a dated event, not always a decision. A disposition is a recorded resolution event, but its short label may not contain the full legal terms. Read the latest activities and obtain the signed order from the Outagamie Clerk when exact language matters. A charge or claim alone is never the outcome.
Statewide Versus Outagamie Case Search
Wisconsin does not maintain a separate Outagamie-only public circuit database. WCCA is statewide, and its county filter produces the Outagamie circuit results. The local Clerk page is the county access point for copies, older or unclear records, branch contacts, and questions WCCA cannot answer.
| WCCA statewide search | Outagamie Clerk channels |
|---|---|
| Public circuit summaries from Wisconsin counties. | Outagamie documents and branch assistance. |
| Docket fields and event history, not the whole file. | Pleadings, orders, judgments, and certified copies when public. |
| Best for locating a Wisconsin circuit case. | Best after identifying the Outagamie case and document. |
When Outagamie WCCA Is Empty
A blank result has several possible causes. The matter may be municipal, federal, sealed, confidential, outside WCCA's public retention period, or entered under different search terms. Some dismissed or acquitted criminal matters and dismissed small claims have specific public display periods. Clerk retention may last longer.
Check the court on the source document. Kaukauna, Menasha and Neenah, New London and Weyauwega, and Seymour use documented municipal court channels. Federal and bankruptcy cases use PACER. For an uncertain circuit file, call the Outagamie records line at 920-832-5130 or use the courthouse WCCA terminal rather than treating absence as proof.
Outagamie Restricted Case Access
Wisconsin public access is broad but qualified. Juvenile files have special confidentiality under Wis. Stat. § 938.396. Paternity and John Doe types are identified as nonpublic-profile categories. Sealed filings, protected personal information, victim and witness details, and juror information may also be withheld or limited.
A clerk cannot remove access merely because someone asks. Wis. Stat. §§ 801.19 through 801.21 address protected data, confidential documents, and judicial sealing decisions. Ask the clerk about lawful access to a specific record without trying to reconstruct hidden details from other sources.
Outagamie Case Document Copies
Public case detail is not public access to every document image. Wisconsin eFiling guidance explains that parties and attorneys may have electronic document access while public users obtain copies from the clerk. WCCA remains the summary and search layer.
Outagamie accepts record requests in person and by phone, fax, or mail. The records phone is 920-832-5130, fax is 920-832-5115, and mailed requests go to Outagamie County Clerk of Courts, 320 S Walnut Street, Appleton, WI 54911. Copies are listed at $1.25 per page. Confirm certification, postage, retrieval needs, and the total before paying.
Outagamie Courthouse Search Access
Courthouse WCCA terminals provide another public access route when an online search is difficult or when courthouse-level access is needed. Wisconsin's CCAP overview explains that terminals are available in county courthouses statewide. The Outagamie Clerk can also help identify the proper circuit record without turning a summary search into a request for protected data.
Bring a case number when possible. Otherwise, use the public party or business name, approximate filing period, and case type. For documents, state the exact item and whether a plain or certified copy is needed. Phone, fax, mail, and in-person channels remain available. For probate material, the Register in Probate may be the better office; for a municipal citation, use its municipal clerk.
A courthouse terminal is still a summary tool. It does not make sealed material public or guarantee an image for every e-filed document. Ask the proper custodian about the exact record and lawful access route.
For search limits, compare the CCAP access overview, Wisconsin redaction guidance, and the official Outagamie Clerk channels.
